To kick off the Spring season, we joyously celebrated our first annual Nurses Touch Home Health Employee Picnic, which was held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Griffith Park. This was a great opportunity to relax with fellow coworkers and their families while enjoying a splendid day at the park.
Coordinated by Laura Reyes, general manager of Nurses Touch, and with help from fellow employees, our first annual picnic was a great success. Thank you Laura for all of your hard work in putting this event together!
Beautifully decorated picnic tables were filled with an overwhelming amount of refreshing drinks, delicious Mexican, American, and Filipino Food, and satisfying desserts. Michael Chambers, our business coordinator, pleased guests’ palettes with mouthwatering Korean style BBQ short ribs, hot dogs, and burgers straight off the grill. Tacos Ricos’ Tacos of all kinds were freshly made and served on site throughout the day. Of course, this picnic would not have been complete without a whole roasted pig (Lechon) and other Filipino dishes, thanks to our administrator, Lyn Ursua, RN.
As this was also a time to celebrate our dear Administrator’s birthday, a specially decorated cake from King’s Hawaiian bakery and a piñata full of treats, which was especially fun for all of the children, were planned just for the celebration.
Everyone excitedly participated in all of the fun games planned for the day. The winners were congratulated with gift card prizes to Jamba Juice, Starbucks, and Bath & Body Works.
To top off the fun, captivating dancers from the Hawaiian Islands, provided by Cocotiki Polynesian Entertainment, delighted all of the guests with their mesmerizing Hula and fast hip shaking to island rhythms. There was enormous applause and giggles as the beautiful dancers brought up nervous volunteers to put on grass skirts and share some dance moves of their own to perform in front of the crowd.
This was such an exciting time for Nurses Touch Employees to get to know each other outside of the normal professional setting and have a good time sharing some memorable moments with each other. With such a great turn out at this year’s picnic, we do hope to continue with a new tradition for the next years to come. In the meantime, please enjoy some more photos below from the event!
